I reached out to Charlie O'Donnell earlier tonight and asked him for any advice on my job search. He was extremely helpful in me finishing the Brandcenter and allowed me to work on my Independent Study for his company, Path 101. Path 101, by the way, is being built to solve one of life's biggest problems; giving you a better idea for your career path. In any event, he gave me a great idea. He said I should spend each morning blogging about a company and offer marketing advice for a specific product or the entire brand - dependent on the company. So that's what I am going to do.
Starting 10/21 (the day I return from Seattle), I am going to spend each morning, Monday through Friday, researching and planning a brief marketing plan for existing companies, start-up companies, technology companies, heck, any company that is interested in getting marketing help. There are three ways a company will be chosen.
1 - A company approaches me with a problem.
2 - Someone recommends a company for me to work on.
3 - I randomly choose a company to work on.
I imagine the first way will be light, so any recommendations will be helpful. I also am interested in hearing feedback, whether positive or negative, so please feel free to comment or send me an email.
The brief marketing plans may include but is not limited to:
* New positioning
* SWOT Analysis
* Target Audience(s)
* Online Marketing Recommendation (s)
* Social Media Recommendation (s)
* Offline Marketing Recommendation (s)
* Potential Strategic Partnership (s)
* Product Development (s)
If you would like me to look at something that is not on this list, please include it when recommending a company to work on. I look forward to this challenge and hope you follow me in my progress to build these brief marketing plans.
