Yesterday, LinkedIn was infused with a cash investment of $53 million, which in turn values the company around $1 Billion. There are far more bloggers that can explain company valuation but I am writing about this because LinkedIn is by far and away, the most useful online network. Much considered a professional network, LinkedIn is a great place for professionals of all ages to build their Rolodex as well as maintain business relationships from the past.
Personally, I have used LinkedIn to connect with many peers I have worked with, recruiters at companies I am interested in working with and even potential mentors who are successfully engaged in their careers. This new investment will help LinkedIn build out its services while making a more strategic move overseas. Imagine being able to connect with business peers across the world through one network. I believe that LinkedIn will continue to improve the way we do business and I look forward to following its progress.
